Seth Godin is the author of 11 books, including such hits as “Purple Cow” and “The Dip.” In a recent publishing challenge, Godin asked 70 innovative thinkers to come up with a 10- to 200-word essay or picture about “a big idea that matters now.” Those providing submissions included everyone from author Elizabeth Gilbert (“Eat, Pray, Love”) to Wired co-founder Kevin Kelly to radio host Dave Ramsey. Godin turned the submissions into a free downloadable e-book packed with quick thoughts, fresh ideas and intriguing perspectives. More than 100,000 of the e-books have been downloaded from Godin’s Website alone.

Do you have anything interesting to share that might be published in a downloadable e-book? Or, what about publishing an actual book? According to howstuffworks.com, self-publishing a book today can cost as little as $5,000. It could be an intriguing and inexpensive way to boost your profile in the industry and attract customers.

Brain Blinks are bite-sized, but always bold, insights, ideas and new perspectives into the creative process that for years were enjoyed only within Cohn & Wolfe, but have now been made public for the world to see and draw inspiration from. They are our contribution to the people, places and things that continue to inspire us every day.
