    Ideas that matter

Eighteen years ago Mike realized that he wanted to work in an area of life and death importance: health. Ever since, he has worked with health companies to build their brands, market access, and license to operate with key stakeholders across pharmaceuticals, consumer health, pharmacy, healthcare devices and health advocacy. Mike’s objective is to help clients successfully negotiate the increasingly complex world of trust and reputation in an age of greater accountability to regulators, payers and the digital democracy.

    Bold brand work

Mike has worked on numerous bold brand campaigns. A recent highlight included the use of augmented reality at a global media briefing to take journalists ‘inside’ the workings of a new compound. Another created interactive online animations to help carers identify the key moments in the development of a degenerative brain condition in order to help drive earlier diagnosis.

    Career highlights

Mike has a First Class Honours degree in English Literature and a Masters in Literary Theory. He speaks French and is a classic car enthusiast. In his spare time he consults pro bono for a health charity and runs a tourism business in France.

    Blog entry

Speaking at last week’s Social Communications & Healthcare Conference (#BDI), Pfizer VP/Worldwide Comunications Ray Kerins said that Pfizer wants to have online conversations with its consumers. However, he thinks it is unfair to ask company employees to risk their job implementing a social media program that the FDA might later deem a violation, despite its refusal to issue guidance in this area. Nevertheless, the company just two weeks ago launched its corporate Twitter page (@Pfizer_News) and is starting to proactively communicate with its audience in real-time.
